This beautiful hedge in the Ridgeway area is our annual project. It took a few years to restore it to a healthy, attractive condition.

Annual hedge trimming

Another of our annual projects is maintaining this 'view window.' While we're up in the tree for maintenance, we also have the opportunity to assess its condition and determine if it requires any further attention to prevent potential hazards.

We always aim to preserve the tree first, but sometimes removal is necessary due to high hazard. When that happens, we focus on sustainability by reusing the wood. In this case, large Western Cedar logs were donated to the Squamish First Nation for their ceremonies.

Hazardous tree removal

The safety of our crew and our clients' property is our top priority. It's important to recognize when it's time to bring in heavy-duty machinery. For our North Vancouver client, a rotten dead tree in the backyard posed a risk, so we used a lift to safely remove it.

This is an example of a bracing technique performed by one of our certified arborists. Bracing helps stabilize trees that have been previously topped.

The workers at Take A Bough did a fantastic job clearing dead branches, getting rid of “suckers “ and pruning back our tree. They even came back to trim back a few branches that I mentioned needed a little more pruning. The tools they used didn’t impact the environment of our garden. They also cleaned up after finishing. Overall I would recommend them to anyone needing help with their tree!
